There is an Extreme Need for Structural Inspections and Reconstruction Services because of: 1. Damages by recent storms, earthquakes, and tsunamis.
2. Recent structural failures, resulting from aging of our infrastructure.
3. General aging and deterioration of our infrastructure (some of it hidden). Recent History Channel programs, entitled The Crumbling of America and Inspector America, and several programs on ABC, CBS, and FOX highlighted the many threats to our lives and our way of life posed by deteriorating bridges, highways, dams, levees, natural gas pipelines, oil refineries, and other infrastructure. President Obama, in his September 8, 2011 Jobs Speech before Congress, urged funds of $447 billion, of which a sizeable portion should go to repair, reconstruction, and replacement of aging and deteriorating bridges, highways, and other infrastructure in the United States. Earlier speeches urged at least $75 billion specifically for bridge and highway restoration. Structural Integrity Solutions, Inc. offers independent structural integrity investigations and inspections for the determination of construction defects and seismic hazards in bridges (including railroad bridges), oil refineries, natural gas pipelines, power plants (excluding nuclear power plants), dams, transmission lines, coal mines, schools, airports, and other structures in the U.S. and around the world. We also arrange for repair, retrofit, rehabilitation, restoration, reconstruction, and replacement services for many of the structures found to be defective or in danger of collapse. In addition, we offer design of new structures and facilities. In particular, railroad bridges in the United States are subject to required annual inspections for structural integrity and load capacity by the Federal Railroad Administration's 49 CFR, Parts 213 and 237: Bridge Safety Standards. To view the text of these requirements, go to: http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2009/pdf/E9-19367.pdf Links to individual pages depicting the various structures and facilities for which we offer investigations, structural integrity inspections, construction defects determination, and seismic hazards determination, plus arrangements and referrals for remedial services, are listed below (click on a topic):: Airport towers, terminals, runways, taxiways, parking lots, and other facilities Beaches, harbors, marinas, wetlands, and coral reefs Breakwaters, seawalls, groins, piers, wharfs, and docks Bridges, piers, tunnels, railroads, highways, and public works infrastructure Casinos, theaters, concert halls, and entertainment centers Cell phone and radio / television antenna towers; communications satellites and antennas Coal mines and coal processing plants Comprehensive list of construction defects, foundation failure, and seismic hazards determination Dams, spillways, levees, canals, and aqueducts; water reclamation plants Factories and processing plants Federal buildings, post offices, state and local government buildings High-rise office buildings, hotels, condos, and apartment buildings Hospitals, medical centers, and health clinics Malls, shopping centers, churches, synagogues, temples, and mosques Military bases, facilities, training centers, and outposts National parks, national monuments, wilderness areas, resorts, lodges, and recreational facilities Natural gas wells and pipelines Oil refineries, oil wells, offshore oil rigs, and oil pipelines Police and fire stations, other law enforcement buildings, courthouses Power plants (excluding nuclear power plants) Prisons, jails, and juvenile detention facilities Railroad bridges (Inspections required by the Federal Railroad Administration's Bridge Safety Standards) Restaurants, fast food outlets, grocery stores, and food distribution centers Seawalls, breakwaters, groins, piers, wharfs, and docks Schools, colleges, and universities - public and private Stadiums, coliseums, sports arenas, and other athletic and recreational facilities Steel mills, smelters, and processing plants Warehouses, silos, and storage facilities Water delivery systems, water reclamation plants; sewage systems, sewage treatment plants Research & Development, Studies, Public Lectures, Documentaries, Textbooks, and Software
